Closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems offer several potential benefits to security programs, including cost savings, observation, deterrence value, the provision of an audit trail, alarm verification, and authentication.
Abstract
These systems represent an amalgam and offer a variety of ways to group parts from multiple manufacturers. The critical issues for any CCTV system are flexibility, timing, tuning, picture quality, and cost. Matrix switchers are the central component of today's large CCTV systems, which also include control panels; pan, tilt, and zoom controls; and alarm input devices. Using matrix representations of CCTV systems allows for growth to accommodate business needs. In developing systems, security managers should recognize that the most obvious initial approach may not be the most cost-effective and that they should make flexibility their main goal. Diagrams
