The identification of checkwriters with questioned checkwriter impressions is rare because of the infrequent submission of checkwriters for examination and the small number of identifying individual characteristics.
Abstract
However, this case study presents a 1989 incident in which an F&E Hedman checkwriter was identified with questioned checkwriter impressions. The identifying characteristics consisted of an unusually heavy ink pattern, resulting from accumulated debris in the checkwriter typeface. 4 figures and 1 reference (Author abstract modified)
