This deskbook emphasizes practical problems involved in conducting juvenile court hearings and is intended to provide a reference source for California's juvenile court judges.
The first section deals with the purpose and scope of California juvenile court law and considers the role of parents and juvenile delinquency prevention. Subsequent sections cover jurisdiction and venue, including a discussion of exclusive and original jurisdiction, and review certification hearings, the juvenile court process, and police and intake investigations.
