THE MAIN BODY OF THE BIBLIOGRAPHY CONSISTS OF SEVEN MAJOR PARTS: (1) INTRODUCTION TO LAW (ORIGINS OF LAW, BASIC CONCEPTS OF LAW, AND LAW IN OTHER SOCIETIES); (2) THE CONSTITUTION (EXECUTIVE, JUDICIAL, AND LEGISLATIVE BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT); (3) THE BILL OR RIGHTS (FIRST AMENDMENT RELATED TO FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND RELIGION, PRIVACY, DUE PROCESS AND RIGHTS OF THE ACCUSED, AND EQUALITY UNDER LAW); (4) CURRENT ISSUES (CRIME AND VIOLENCE, POLICE, COURTS, CORRECTIONS, DRUGS AND THE LAW, CONSUMERISM, HOUSING AND LANDLORD-TENANT RELATIONSHIPS, PUBLIC REVENUES AND SERVICES, THE CORPORATE INFLUENCE, LABOR AND THE LAW, THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE LAW, AND LAW AND THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY); (5) GENERAL HANDBOOKS ON LAW; (6) THE POLITICAL PROCESS; AND (7) THE TEACHING OF LAW (SOURCES AND CONCEPTS). MATERIALS ARE LISTED ALPHABETICALLY BY AUTHOR, AND EDUCATIONAL GRADE LEVELS RECOMMENDED BY PUBLISHERS TO GUIDE IN SELECTING APPROPRIATE MATERIALS ARE NOTED. ALTHOUGH MOST CITATIONS ARE DATED IN THE 1960'S AND 1970'S, SOME GO BACK TO THE 1940'S AND 1950'S. AN INDEX IS INCLUDED. (DEP)
