COMMENTARY ON THE JUVENILE COURT SYSTEM AND ITS EFFECT ON THOSE WHO ARE BROUGHT BEFORE IT.
Abstract
THE DISPARITY BETWEEN THE JUVENILE COURT SYSTEM AND THE PRESENTLY 'OPERATING' JUVENILE JUSTICE PROCESS IS ENORMOUS. SHORTAGE OF RESOURCES FOR OPERATING EXPENSES, THE JUVENILE JUSTICE THEORY OF PARENS PATRIAE, PARENTAL MISUSE OF THE COURT SYSTEM, MISGUIDED ROLE OF THE SCHOOLS IN DEALING WITH TRUANCY AND THE FAILURES OF THE COMMUNITY IN HELPING TO PREVENT DELINQUENCY THROUGH UNDERSTANDING BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS ARE CONSIDERED. A RADICAL REFORMATION OF SCHOOLS AND MORE RESOURCES ARE NEEDED. FINAL COMMENTS FOCUS ON THE POTENTIAL OF THE SCHOOLS IN A DELINQUENCY RIDDEN COMMUNITY.
