Abstract
The 36 specific safety measures apply to a variety of everyday situations. They include physical crime prevention measures for the home (locks, keys, ornamental grillwork) and the car as well as attitudinal and behavioral measures when using public transportation; responding to a stranger at the door; being followed while driving, walking, jogging, or biking; and experiencing a face-to-face confrontation with an assailant. Tips are also given for neighborhood security, safety at work, and in sexual assault situations. Illustrations are provided.
