This paper reviews school maladjustment in minors confined in a Spanish juvenile court center and its associations with sociofamiliar, psychobiographical, and social maladjustment, given the fact that school is one of the earliest agents of socialization.
Abstract
A total of 94 adolescents, age 12 to 18 from both sexes were studied. Results indicate an influence of family conflict on the subject's behavior in association with the anxiety trait and extroversion. Further, an accurate diagnosis of early school maladjustment is essential as it is in this setting that treatment of social maladjustment can be initiated with a minimum of delay and a maximum benefit of result. 8 tables, 26 references.
