This manual presents the objectives, curriculum content, and exercises for the delivery of performance-based law enforcement training regarding the criminal law, as part of the guidelines developed in cooperation with the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training.
Abstract
The instructional goal is to provide students with knowledge of the concepts and terminology needed to understand the California criminal justice system. Topics include the sources of the law, classification and elements of crime, the differences between torts and crimes, the difference between the spirit of the law and the letter of the law, and concepts of criminal intent. Other topics include crimes of accessories, principals, and accomplices; entrapment; and the definition of terms used. List of performance objectives and 13 references
