Abstract

The Service Description Document provides stakeholders with all aspects of the Arrest Warrant Information Exchange, Warrant Issue Service (AWIE-WI) that are not directly tied to the physical implementation of the service. The AWIE-WI provides criminal justice agencies with a framework to communicate and route arrest warrant information throughout the warrant lifecycle, from the initial warrant request to its eventual disposal. By streamlining the arrest warrant processes, the AWIE-WI Service seeks to provide criminal justice organizations with the data needed in order to act on warrants and warrant requests in a timely and accurate manner. The Service Description Document lays out the Service overview, including scope, capabilities, real-world effects, security classification, and service specification package version; it also provides business scenarios, including primary and alternative flows for Request Warrant and Issue Warrant; Service interoperability requirements, including Service assumptions and dependencies, execution context, policies and contracts, security, and other requirements. The document also provides service model information, including behavior and information models. The AWIE-WI Service package also provides stakeholders with an Agency Role-Mapping Worksheet among other artifacts, including service interfaces for approving, issuing, and owning entities; repository system service interface; screening, subscribing, and requesting entity service interfaces; and service models of behavior and information model folders containing relevant files. Other information included in the package relates to AWIE-WI sample files, schema, and metadata.
