This report presents data on the nature and extent of crime throughout Arizona during 1990, includes State and county arrest data for Uniform Crime Report Part I and Part II offenses, and summarizes information about assaults on law enforcement officers.
Abstract
In 1990, 288,221 Crime Index Offenses were reported; Part I offenses accounted for 61,480 arrests and Part II offenses for 186,871 arrests. Adult arrests numbered 195,255 and juvenile arrests 53,096. Males accounted for 80.6 percent and females for 19.4 percent of the arrests. There were 9,736 arrests for violent crimes and 51,744 arrests for property crimes. Aggravated assault accounted for the largest incidence of violent crimes with 15,994 offenses; homicide accounted for the smallest number with 278 offenses. Larceny-theft accounted for the largest incidence of property crimes with 170,986 offenses; arson accounted for the smallest number with 1,583 offenses. The value of the property stolen totaled $293,110,304. A glossary is included.
