Abstract
The text begins with comparative summaries of and commentary on Costa Rican judicial activity statistics for 1989-1992 and earlier. Tables include information by geographic area, type of judgement, level of court, number of cases, and year. Forty tables depict activity in Superior Civil, Labor, Contentious, and Agrarian Courts; 64 tables cover penal activity, 14 misdemeanor, 23 labor, 25 civil, and 11 alimony. Four tables summarize the information and 23 refer to other types of judicial activities. 204 graphs
