This report emphasizes the growing problem of alcohol and drug abuse among young people in Kansas and lists recommendations and guidelines made by the Education Subcommittee of the Interagency Coordinating Committee (ICC) for programs and education.
Abstract
Recommendations included in this report are guidelines for successful school-based alcohol and drug programs, curriculums for school districts, descriptions of programs for parent education and involvement, intervention strategies, life skills development activities for students, and teacher training and education. Also among the recommendations was the designation of staff to coordinate drug and alcohol abuse services. Addenda, bibliography, and additional resources listed.
