This report describes the Alaska court system and its accomplishments during fiscal year 1995 and presents statistical data on case filings and dispositions.
Abstract
The court system has 44 court locations and 700 authorized full-time and part-time positions. The judges include five supreme court justices, three court of appeals judges, 31 superior court judges, 16 district court judges, and 39 magistrates. The court system's annual budget was $44,796,000 in fiscal year 1995. A total of 753 cases were filed in the supreme court, 21,378 in the superior courts, and 115,013 in the district courts. The supreme court issued 473 decisions, the superior courts decided 19,619 cases, and the district courts decided 114,115 cases during the year. Tables, figures, and photograph
