The report presents statistics on the number of personnel and expenditures of each criminal justice system agency (law enforcement, prosecution, public defender, courts and corrections, parole, etc.) in Alaska for 1981. It shows how government funds are distributed to the different government agencies and budget categories and how criminal justice resources are distributed.
Abstract
The report contains a description of each criminal justice agency as found in the State statutes, the number and type of employees, the expenditures and funding for fiscal years 1977-81, the capacities of local jails and correctional institutions, and the size of local police departments. It includes personnel and expenditure data on the Violent Crimes Compensation Board, on the Police Standards Council, on the Commission on Judicial Qualifications, and on the Judicial Council. A glossary is included.
