A series of public policy papers covers AIDS-related issues to promote public understanding and the support of a sensible public health policy in Seattle-King County (Wash.).
Abstract
These reports are intended for use by Health Department staff, AIDS educators, hotline and speaker's bureau volunteers, community agencies, policymakers, the media, and the general public. HIV antibody testing, HIV and AIDS quarantine, HIV and AIDS education, and prevention among intravenous drug users are covered as well as AIDS policies in the workplace, AIDS in correctional facilities, and access to HIV and AIDS health care. HIV partner notification, HIV seropositive reporting, and substantial occupational exposure to HIV are also included. For each issue discussed, background information, current law, health department policy recommendations, resources, and references are provided. 42 references
