This study examined the relationship between age and erectile response in 104 inner-city adolescent males who had been charged with, or convicted of, a sexual offense.
Abstract
The results showed that age accounted for a significant proportion of variance in erection measures. The findings also showed that age was negatively correlated with erection measures; this result could be attributable to differences in the ability to suppress arousal, demand characteristics, or differences in sexual interest or arousal patterns. These findings indicate that age is a consideration when making decisions to use erection measures in adolescents and when making specific judgments about sexual interests based on those measures. 1 table, 2 figures, and 16 references
