THE FOLLOWING FOUR CATEGORIES OF ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEMS ARE DESCRIBED - STORE CARD PUSHBUTTON, CREDIT CARD, PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTE, AND PORTABLE-KEY, CODED CARD SYSTEMS. MANUFACTURERS OF THE VARIOUS SYSTEMS ARE LISTED, THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THEIR PRODUCTS OUTLINED, AND PRICE RANGES INDICATED. FUTURE ADVANCEMENTS THAT MIGHT BE EXPECTED IN EQUIPMENT, TECHNIQUES, AND COSTS ARE DISCUSSED.
