This web-article presents the findings of a plenary discussion hosted by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) that focused on the Integrating Communications, Assessment, and Tactics (ICAT) training program for law enforcement.
During the 2023 National Research Conference, the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) hosted four plenary discussions on NIJ’s key priorities and areas of investment. This web-article details the third plenary session that focused on the Integrating Communications, Assessment, and Tactics (ICAT) training program for law enforcement. Federal, research, and law enforcement perspectives were represented in the plenary to discuss the complete life cycle of the ICAT training program, an evidence-based program, from design and initial implementation to evaluation and, eventually, improvements to the program based on research and performance.
