This report describes the publication and dissemination of State incident-based crime data, specifically the presentation of criminal statistics by States in tabular form.
Abstract
Describes the States' publication and dissemination of incident-based data, focusing on the presentation of criminal statistics in tabular form. As of September 1998, 14 States were certified by the FBI to report NIBRS data. Additional States collect incident-based data on a local or city-level, while attempting to integrate an incident-based collection system State-wide. Emphasis is placed on the production of formal publications that utilize incident-based information, including State annual reports, special reports, and Internet applications.
