Annotation

After describing the mission and organization of the U.S. Justice Department's Office of Justice Programs (OJP), this report describes each of the OJP's grant and technical assistance programs for fiscal year 2005.

Abstract

Since its creation in 1984, the OJP has provided Federal leadership in the development of the Nation's capacity to prevent and control crime, administer justice, and assist crime victims. It also develops information about crime and its related legal and social implications. OJP's bureaus and offices administer Federal grants, provide training and technical assistance, support technology development and research, and collect and disseminate statistics. This report describes funding opportunities, training, technical assistance, and other resources offered by the OJP in the following areas: law enforcement, corrections/managing offenders, juvenile justice, victims of crime, substance abuse and crime, terrorism and domestic preparedness, and technology to fight crime. Each of the OJP's programs in these various areas is described. For funding opportunities, the grant amount for each program is presented. For all the programs, sources of additional information on the program are provided.
