This equipment standard establishes performance requirements and test methods for direct-connect annunciator panels intended for use in monitoring the status of intrusion alarm systems located at commercial or residential premises.
Abstract
The alarm signals are transmitted over leased telephone lines to the police department. The panel provides an audible and visible alarm to indicate a change in status of the intrusion alarm system on the protected premises. The standards cover acceptance criteria, user information, material and configuration, functional requirements, alarm signal sensitivity, receiver alarm time delay, stability, electromagnetic susceptibility, and the tamper switch. Procedures for evaluating these areas of performance are provided and illustrated. 3 references.
