These draft videos and discussion guides examine the impact of elder abuse on older adults and their families, as well as effective interventions.
Developed by the National Clearinghouse on Abuse in Later Life and Terra Nova Films, with funding by the U.S. Justice Department’s Office for Victims of Crime, these nine draft online videos feature older survivors throughout the United States sharing their stories and experiences of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and financial exploitation. This project intends to show the strength and resiliency of older survivors and the impact of elder abuse on older adults and their families. The videos challenge ageist assumptions about older survivors, examine effective supports and interventions, and strengthen communication and collaboration among professionals to improve the safety and quality of life of older survivors of abuse.
