The volume contains details on the 148 detectors/instruments referenced in Volume 1. Information in this guide was obtained through literature searches and market surveys. Vendors were contacted multiple times to ensure data accuracy. The information is supplemented with test data obtained from other sources, e.g., Department of Defense. The purpose of the guide is not to provide recommendations but rather to provide information so a potential user/purchaser can compare and contrast commercially available detection equipment. The document discusses the market survey that was conducted to identify the 148 commercially available chemical agent (CA) and toxic industrial material (TIM) detection equipment items. It also describes the 38 data fields for providing information relating to the equipment; sequentially indexes chemical detectors by detector identification number and includes the manufacturers; alphabetically indexes chemical detectors by equipment names; alphabetically indexes chemical detectors by manufacturer names; provides the immediately dangerous to life and health (IDLH) values for the CA's and most of the TIM's that are listed; and provides data sheets for each item of chemical detection equipment.
