The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) of the Office of Justice Programs (OJP) invites applications for the FY 2024 Second Chance Act Improving Reentry Education and Employment Outcomes. State, city or township, county, special district, and Native American tribal governments (federally recognized), as well as nonprofits that are not institutions of higher education, nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education, and nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education, are eligible to apply. Successful candidates receive funding to support reentry services and programs focused on strengthening education and employment outcomes for individuals returning to their communities after a period of incarceration. BJA encourages agencies that have not previously received BJA funding, convening or governing bodies that can apply on behalf of one or more entities, and community-based organizations and faith-based institutions to apply. The solicitation also includes tips for success and information about how and when to apply.
