This web report provides statistics on the percentage of female recruits who started and completed basic training, by state and by type of academy. Data are from BJS’s Census of Law Enforcement Training Academies, which was last administered in 2018 (data released November 2021). The census gathers information from state and local academies that are responsible for administering mandatory basic training to newly appointed or elected law enforcement officers.
