This is the video of a webinar that examined the complex issue of researching an elderly population for abuse, and it describes one innovation in this area in New Hampshire, i.e., the development of a risk assessment tool through an innovative research partnership that involved the New Hampshire Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services.
Completion rates for all assessments are high (98-100 percent). Many supervisors have embraced the assessment system and are willing to model their understanding of the system and the usefulness of each assessment. The assessment outcomes are being incorporated into practice. The assessment system has also assisted in compensating for reduced staffing and gaps in services. In addition, new staff have the advantage of being trained under the new system.
