This CD-ROM contains all the U.S. Department Justice, Bureau of Justice Statistics publications that are available electronically and were published before December 2004.
Abstract
The publications contained on the CD-ROM are presented alphabetically, chronologically, and topically. The abstracts for each document are available in HTML format and each publication is presented in Portable Document Format (PDF) and/or ASCII. The PDF files are full electronic renderings of published documents including the text, page, layout and graphics that can be viewed and printed on any platform. Most of the tables are available in spreadsheet formats. For many of the reports all of the spreadsheets are maintained in a zip archive that must be expanded for use. Publication topics included in the CD-ROM are: (1) corrections and criminal offenders; (2) courts and sentencing; (3) crime and victims; (4) criminal justice; (5) criminal records systems; (6) Federal justice system; (7) law enforcement; and (8) prosecution. Examples of publications included in the CD-ROM are Alcohol and Crime, Census of Jails annual reports, Federal Drug Offenders, Criminal Victimization annual reports, Sourcebook of Criminal Justice Statistics, Compendium of State Privacy and Security Legislation, Federal Law Enforcement Officers’ annual reports, 50 Largest Crime Labs, 2002, and Prosecutors in State Courts annual reports.
