This DVD was produced by the Office of Justice Programs, Office for Victims of Crime to accompany the 2013 NCVRW (National Crime Victims' Rights Week) Resource Guide. The DVD highlights the challenges faced by victims of crime and those who serve them, and it provides solutions to these challenges. Challenges addressed on the DVD include communicating with victims and their families, identifying victims, and providing victims access to the criminal justice system. Solutions discussed on the DVD include the use of new technologies such as Web sites and mobile phone apps, and the creation of public/private partnerships to aid victims and their families. The DVD is intended to be used by organizations and officials as a means for promoting public awareness, education, and training about victims' rights. The Web site for the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) offers tips for using the DVD as well as tips for holding screenings of the DVD to get the DVD's message out to its intended audience.
