First Lady Melania Trump meets with Office of Justice Programs Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Matt Dummermuth during a meeting of the Interagency Working Group on Youth Programs March 18, 2019. The First Lady convened the working group to focus on federal programs related to the three pillars of her Be Best Campaign, which are the well-being of children, social media safety and families affected by opioid abuse. Caren Harp, administrator of OJP’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, also attended. OJJDP provides grants to many programs that further Be Best objectives, such as services and programs to protect children, help opioid-affected youth, and provide mentoring opportunities for those at-risk.
