The Bureau of Justice Assistance and the National Indian Country Training Initiative, in partnership with the American Probation and Parole Association, will host two Tribal Intergovernmental Reentry Workshops.
The focus of these workshops is on higher risk clients having served longer sentences in State and Federal Prisons. It may also apply to higher risk clients serving longer sentences under enhanced sentencing authorities, but the training does not focus on those clients returning to tribal communities from tribal facilities for non-major crimes.
The workshops will provide participants with the tools they need to develop effective reentry plans based on the sharing of operational, organizational, and culture-based concepts and processes that result in the identification of critical services and interventions needed to reduce recidivism and victimization.
Each workshop will be offered twice and delivered in the following locations:
- Columbia, South Carolina, January 16-19, 2019
- Phoenix, Arizona, February 19-21, 2019
Applications are due by 8:00 p.m. Eastern on November 9, 2018.
Please understand that space in the program is limited and that not all applicants may be accommodated in this series of workshops.
