This interactive session will concentrate on the how, when, where, and why of small jail challenges.
The seminar will start of by giving small jail practitioners leadership skills that concentrate on a small staff and multi-tasking stress. The next area for instruction will be legal issues and how small jails might be more open to liability because of facility plant design, lack of staffing, and how to manage the demands of meeting legal requirements.
Presenters will also cover contract negotiations, hiring and retention, and housing.
