This workshop is for individuals exposed to child sexual abuse images and mental health professionals working with them.
Team-taught by a mental health professional and a law enforcement officer, this course offers professionals who are exposed to child sexual abuse images at work and who may interact often with child sex offenders (e.g., law enforcement officers, forensic analysts, prosecutors) the opportunity to learn about the causes and symptoms of the negative effects that may occur as a result of their duties and ways to mitigate them.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn the definition of trauma response and how to identify signs and symptoms of trauma.
- Explore tools and techniques for building resilience and applying coping skills.
- Discuss incorporation of team and family support.
- Explore integration of a mental health professional.
