On World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2018, the Attorney General announced that the U.S. Department of Justice would focus on the challenges rural and tribal communities face in addressing and combatting elder abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation.
To advance this priority, the Attorney General directed the Department to:
(1) identify the unique challenges rural and tribal communities face, (2) identify promising and innovative best practices that rural and tribal communities have found that help to combat elder abuse, and (3) explore with our public and private partners what more we can do to support these rural and tribal efforts.
The Department is committed to finding ways to break down silos and foster greater connections at the tribal, local, state, and federal levels.
Please join the Department of Justice for this important event to ensure they hear from the rural and tribal communities to help enhance collective efforts to combat and prevent elder abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation.
