OJJDP will host "Introduction to Youth Hate Crimes and Hate Groups" as the first webinar in a 12-webinar series. The webinar series is part of OJJDP’s Preventing Youth Hate Crimes & Identity-Based Bullying Initiative.
Presenters will provide an understanding of hate crimes and hate groups (signs and symbols of hate groups, recruitment, definitions); identify the differences between bullying, harassment, and hate crimes; discuss how to identify and report hate crimes in school; and highlight restorative justice solutions and prevention efforts.
The webinar series is supported by Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention's National Training and Technical Assistance Center (OJJDP's NTTAC). To obtain handouts and documents for this event, contact the OJJDP NTTAC Help Desk at ojjdptta@usdoj.gov or by phone at 1-833-647-0513.
This webinar follows OJJDP's 2-day national symposium to increase understanding and prevention of identity-based bullying and hate crimes as they impact our nation’s youth.
