The Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2018, (P.L. 115-141) for the U.S. Department of Justice created a 3 percent set-aside in the Crime Victims Fund (CVF) receipts allocated to OVC. OVC is responsible for administering grant award programs that are supported by the CVF, including the FY 2018 tribal set-aside.
OVC invites tribal leaders and representatives to participate in a Tribal Listening Session regarding how potential future tribal set-aside funding from the CVF should be administered. View the invitation at www.ovc.gov/pdftxt/Listening-Session-Invitation-Letter-508.pdf.
The session will be held on December 4, 2018, from 1:30-5:30 p.m. on the reservation of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, California and in conjunction with the 16th National Indian Nations Conference: Justice for Victims of Crime (December 5-7, 2018).
View an informational paper that provides relevant background and questions for you to consider in advance of the session at: www.ovc.gov/pdftxt/Listening-Session-Informational-Paper-508.pdf.
