Invisible Injuries: Traumatic Brain Injury, Strangulation and Domestic Violence (Webinar)

The webinar will frame what we are learning about traumatic brain injury (TBI) and strangulation from Ohio research, discuss signs and symptoms of brain injury, and share the CARE framework developed in Ohio to better accommodate the needs of domestic violence programs.

Learning Objectives:
1. Understand that traumatic brain injury and strangulation are critical health concerns for domestic violence survivors and how current diagnosis and treatment models used for athletes and the military must be adapted to better serve survivors.

2. Explore approaches and stages of care that survivors may encounter in different health care settings � such as emergency department, primary care, neurology, rehabilitative services, mental health.

3. Learn about accommodations that service providers in order to make their services more accessible to survivors living with a traumatic brain injury.

4. Learn about screening, identification, assessment, and education tools that can be used with survivors and staff in domestic violence organizations and health care settings.
