Medical child abuse is a form of physical and emotional abuse that includes the exaggeration, fabrication, and induction of symptoms, resulting in excessive, unnecessary, and harmful medical care.
Investigating medical child abuse requires close collaboration within the Multidisciplinary Team to ensure the child's safety while gathering evidence.
Drawing from actual cases, this training will explain Medical Child Abuse; detail investigative strategies used to identify and protect these vulnerable victims; and provide guidance on successful prosecution of this rather new form of child abuse.
