The purpose of this course is to help participants recognize and practice critical thinking skills to help enhance and hone decision making during tactical and administrative activities. Critical thinking is the intellectually disciplined process of actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and/or evaluating information gathered from, or generated by, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication, as a guide to belief and action.

The design, implementation, and evaluation of problem-solving techniques will also be examined. Students will explore how viable problem-solving alternatives are generated and put into practice. Students will examine the link between problem-solving and decision making.
