This OJJDP Comprehensive Gang Model provides a framework for coordinated action that improves a community's capacity to respond to gangs, whether emerging or entrenched.
The National Gang Center highly recommends that communities interested in implementing the Model assemble a team of participants to attend this training.
Teams of no more than six members are optimal.
Teams will learn how to conduct a thorough gang assessment, organize the structure of the Model, build on community partnerships, and develop a plan utilizing the Model's five core strategies.
Teams also will learn how to coordinate programs and staff functions to effectively utilize available resources, implement formal and informal social control strategies, and develop a street outreach component.
Space is limited, and registration will close as soon as the training is full.
