This report highlights the activities of the Youngstown, Ohio, Police Department in 1993.
Abstract
The components of the department's organizational structure include patrol units, the detective division, services division, the chief of police, staff inspector, tactical response team, special investigations, and support unit. This report presents statistics on Part I offenses (murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, arson, auto theft, and larceny) committed in the Youngstown jurisdiction between 1989 and 1993. Part II offenses covered here include other assaults, embezzlement and fraud, bad check reports, sexual assaults, and miscellaneous offenses. Traffic statistics cover fatal accidents, crashes, summons issued to drivers, parking tickets, and monthly arrests related to driving under the influence. Activities of various units, including those described above, as well as the bomb squad, juvenile bureau, forensics laboratory, and community-oriented police service program, are summarized.
