FIVE REGIONAL WORKSHOPS HELD TO ENCOURAGE LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS TO INITIATE OR IMPROVE ALCOHOL/HIGHWAY SAFETY PROGRAMS IN THEIR JURISDICTIONS ARE DESCRIBED.
Abstract
THE WORKSHOP PROJECT WAS CONDUCTED BY THE INSTITUTE FOR SAFETY ANALYSIS, UNDER CONTRACT TO THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION. EACH 3-DAY WORKSHOP WAS ATTENDED BY AN AVERAGE OF 20 PARTICIPANTS, INCLUDING REPRESENTATIVES FROM POLICE, DRUG, AND OTHER AGENCIES. THE BACKGROUND OF THE WORKSHOP PROJECT AND THE METHODS USED TO SELECT PARTICIPANTS AND TO DETERMINE WORKSHOP SITES AND DATES ARE DESCRIBED. THE CONTENT OF THE WORKSHOPS IS OUTLINED, AND THE WORKSHOP AGENDA IS PRESENTED. WORKSHOP EVALUATION METHODS AND FINDINGS ARE REPORTED, AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FUTURE, SIMILAR UNDERTAKINGS ARE OFFERED. LISTS OF WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS AND COPIES OF EVALUATION, REGISTRATION, AND OTHER FORMS ARE APPENDED. (LKM)
