Abstract
THE WORKSHOP, CONVENED BY THE CENTER FOR VOCATIONAL EDUCATION, OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY, COLUMBUS, OHIO, BROUGHT TOGETHER 71 KEY DECISIONMAKERS IN THE FIELDS OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND VOCATIONAL EDUCATION TO DEVELOP RECOMMENDATIONS FOR RESEARCH, PERSONNEL DEVELOPMENT, PROGRAM IMPROVEMENT, AND COOPERATION RELATIVE TO VOCATIONAL EDUCATION IN CORRECTIONS. THE PLANNING ACTIVITIES THAT PRECEDED THE CONFERENCE (INCLUDING A LITERATURE REVIEW AND SURVEYS OF STATE AGENCIES AND POTENTIAL WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS -- BOTH UNDERTAKEN WITH A VIEW TO ESTABLISHING THE WORKSHOP AGENDA) ARE DESCRIBED, AS ARE THE PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED IN IMPLEMENTING THE WORKSHOP. WORKSHOP-RELATED DISSEMINATION ACTIVITIES ARE OUTLINED, RECOMMENDATIONS ARE SUMMARIZED, AND AN OUTLINE OF THE WORKSHOP PROGRAM IS PRESENTED.
