This is an information packet in Spanish for the Take a Bite Out of Crime program to spur citizen vigilance in preventing crime in neighborhoods, homes, and businesses.
Abstract
The packet contains a description of the program and suggestions for disseminating information on crime prevention throughout the residential and business community and taking concrete steps to prevent crime, such as organizing neighborhood watch groups, modifying environmental design, and marking personal belongings to deter theft. The packet contains camera-ready masters of fliers and other materials for reproduction, some designed for special audiences, such as youth, the elderly, people with disabilities, and parents. Some fliers target particular crimes, such as automobile theft, family violence, rural crime, shoplifting, and vandalism. A special booklet gives guidance on how to start a crime prevention program. A list of McGruff licensed products available from commercial companies is included, as is a questionnaire asking users to evaluate the usefulness of the materials in the packet and indicate how they will be used.
