Abstract
COVERED ARE THE PREJUDICE AND CONTROVERSY OVER WOMEN POLICE OFFICERS, THEIR ASSIGNMENT TO REGULAR PATROL DUTY, THEIR PERFORMANCE, AND THEIR ACCEPTANCE AS LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS. THE TRADITIONAL ROLE OF POLICE, AND THE SELECTION PROCESS FOR NEW RECRUITS, ARE ALSO CONSIDERED.
