Abstract
THE AUTHOR DEFENDS ONE OF HER EARLIER WORKS ON THE SUBJECT OF WOMEN AND CRIME THAT WAS CRITICIZED IN THE ARTICLE AND IDENTIFIES GAPS IN THE DATA PROVIDED AND FLAWS IN THE REASONING. SHE ALSO CRITICIZES THE INADEQUACY OF THE LITERATURE SURVEY CONDUCTED BY THE OTHER AUTHORS. TABLES SUMMARIZING COMPARACTIVE CRIME DATA BY OFFENSE AND SEX OF THE OFFENDER AND WHITE COLLAR AND CLERICAL STATISTICS FOR FEMALES AND MALES FROM 1948-1971 ARE ADAPTED FROM THE PRESENT AUTHOR'S EARLIER WORK.
