This volume presents the text of juvenile codes and related statutes in Wisconsin, summarizes judicial decisions and attorney general opinions regarding the law, and explains several basic legal concepts under the State's Children's Code.
Abstract
Changes enacted by the Wisconsin legislature during 1989-90 are also summarized. The laws presented include those relating to handicapped children and school-age children, laws relating to education and schools, laws relating to underage use of alcohol and drug paraphernalia, provisions relating to divorce and other family matters affecting children, laws on parental liability for the actions of a minor child, and laws relating to crimes against children. Explanations are also provided regarding civil law and ordinance enforcement, confidentiality and access to law enforcement records, the use of contempt in juvenile court, emancipation, fugitives, residency for the purpose of school attendance, constructive possession of alcohol, juvenile court restitution, and victims' rights.
