Abstract
THIS EXTENDED REPORT IS INTENDED TO GIVE THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE DELAWARE AGENCY TO REDUCE CRIME ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE PROJECT; TO AID PROJECT PERSONNEL IN UNDERSTANDING AND SOLVING, PRACTICAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL PROBLEMS; AND TO SERVE AS A GUIDE IN DEVELOPING FUTURE PROJECTS OF A SIMILAR NATURE. THE FIRST APPROACH TAKEN IN THIS INVESTIGATION WAS TO ASK SPECIFIC SUBJECTS TO VOLUNTEER PERCEPTIONS RELATING TO THE CONCEPT, APPLICATION, IMPLEMENTATION, AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE YOUTH SERVICE SYSTEM. THE SECOND APPROACH WAS TO EXAMINE DATA SUCH AS CLIENTS REFERRED, NUMBER AND TYPES OF CLIENT PROBLEMS, AND NUMBER AND TYPE OF SERVICES CONTRACTED TO EXISTING AGENCIES. THIS REPORT CONTAINS RATINGS OF THE DEGREE OF EFFORT MADE TOWARD ACCOMPLISHING EACH OBJECTIVE, LISTED ACCORDING TO OBJECTIVE, AND SUMMARIES OF THE INDIVIDUAL PERCEPTIONS OF THE PROJECT. OBJECTIVES ACHIEVEMENT IS REPORTED FOR THE ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT, THE STAFF DEVELOPMENT UNIT, THE SCHOOL-POLICE LIAISON, THE POLICE-DIVERSION WORKER, THE YOUTH SERVICE CENTER, AND DIRECT SERVICES.
