This treatment workbook is designed to aid sexual offenders to identify and evaluate their problems and to determine how to begin treatment in a sex offender program.
Abstract
The workbook is designed to speak directly to the sex offender and to help him understand his goals and the goals of treatment. The workbook is divided into twelve chapters dealing with various aspects of offender treatment. In assessing the experiences that led to deviance, the workbook explores possible abuse of the sex offender in childhood. Each chapter includes assignments that ask those in treatment to evaluate their good and bad life experiences, to increase their self esteem by identifying their positive personality traits, and to identify the feelings associated with their deviant behavior. The final chapter focuses on surviving the stages of recovery. A list of additional therapeutic reading is provided.
