THIS 1977 ANNUAL REPORT BY THE WHITE PLAINS (N.Y.) DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY IS AN ACCOUNT OF ACTIVITIES THAT OCCURRED IN THE DEPARTMENTS OF POLICE, FIRE, PUBLIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION, AND SPECIAL PROJECTS.
Abstract
THE REPORT IS SUBMITTED IN NARRATIVE FORM WITH STATISTICS, GRAPHS, AND PHOTOGRAPHS AND INCLUDES REPORTS FROM THE EXAMINING BOARDS OF STATIONARY ENGINEERS AND MOTION PICTURE OPERATORS. THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S STATISTICS REVEAL AN INCREASE OF 3.3 PERCENT IN RADIO DISPATCHED CALLS FOR THE YEAR AS COMPARED TO THE PREVIOUS YEAR, AND A DECREASE OF 8 PERCENT IN UNIFORM CRIME REPORTING INDEX CRIMES. A DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENTS THAT WERE RESPONDED TO BY POLICE IS PROVIDED AS WELL AS A BREAKDOWN OF TYPES OF CRIMES REPORTED TO THE POLICE AND AN ANALYSIS OF INDEX CRIMES. AGENCY PERSONNEL INCREASES, PROMOTIONS, AND LOSSES ARE ALSO NOTED. (DAG)
