THIS 1978 ANNUAL REPORT OF THE WASHINGTON OFFICE OF THE ADMINISTRATOR FOR THE COURTS, IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE THE JUDICIARY, OTHER GOVERNMENT BRANCHES, AND THE PUBLIC WITH INFORMATION ON THE STATE'S COURT OPERATIONS.
Abstract
COURTS DISCUSSED INCLUDE BOTH APPELLATE AND TRIAL COURTS. INCLUDED ARE THE STATE SUPREME COURT, THE COURT OF APPEALS, SUPERIOR COURTS, DISTRICT COURTS, AND MUNICIPAL COURTS. FOR EACH COURT, THE COURT'S JURISDICTION AND ORGANIZATION ARE DESCRIBED, NAMES OF JUDGES ARE LISTED, ORGANIZATION AND SUPPORT PERSONNEL ARE DISCUSSED, AND A WORKLOAD ANALYSIS IS PRESENTED. WORKLOAD DATA PRESENTED INCLUDE CASES PENDING, FILED, TERMINATED, AND DISPOSED, TRIALS HELD, TYPES OF OFFENSES, TYPES OF PLEAS, AND JUDGES' WORKLOADS. STATISTICAL COMPARISONS BETWEEN 1977 AND 1978 ARE PRESENTED.
